How can we define the European culture and identity from an astrological perspective?
Using the astrological method may help us to plot a direction of thinking we could never have imagined. Astrology is unmatched as a technique to model and qualify time and the processes of change. Astrology enables us to think out of the box in a holistic way about the nature of reality.
Astrology - Geert Hofstede
As a point of reference I use Geert Hofstede's cultural dimensions. This means that the horoscope indicates how these cultural dimensions, which are used by Hofstede to characterize different cultures globally, are highlighted within a specific chart of an organization or country.
There is no formal relation between this model and astrology, however as a scholar I know this model well enough to see its symbolical reference to the astrological chart. By mapping this model on the chart I have introduced a new set of keywords to delineate the astrological chart in cultural terms. This is a novel technique and it will be interesting and exiting to explore the disrupting theories and innovating insights it helps creating.

From an astrological perspective we can say that the roadmap for the development of an European culture and identity is already there. It is the chart of European Unon itself which is the identity and culture shaping entity. Therfore I am going to delineate that chart to answer the main question. 1) What can be said about the European culture based on the chart of the European Union itself?
In part (i) we focus on the European chart. The European Union came into being in 1958, Jan 1, 12:00 am in Brussels (Book of World horoscopes). Its chart which I have used in many other postings in this blog looks like this:

Prominent in the chart are the angles and the Sun.
The Asc is located on the Virgo-Libra cusp, which indicates that the way Europe asserts itself is in a mixed analytical and diplomatic way. Europe looks at the world from a practical and harmony seeking perspective.
The IC is located on the cusp of Sagittarius and Capricorn. This should implicate that the EU sees its constitution as a globally expansive, freedom loving concept and as a conservative, traditional family. The roots of the EU originate from a philosophical and political source.
The DEC is located on the Pisces-Aries cusp, which indicates that the EU relates to others (externally) in a chaotic but selfless way, blending in the world community or in an impulse, assertive and challenging way by putting its self interest first.
The MC is located on the Gemini - Lobster cusp, which indicates that the EU's main contribution to the global community is realized through trade and learning on the one side and 'caring' and safety on the other.
Its Sun in Capricorn/4th house means its identity is primarily enhanced through a material focussed, risk avoiding, authoritive and ambitious approach to issues in its internal domain. Sun in the 4th means 'good feng shui', a good place to be. The EU identity is predominantly the result of an internal process and internally focussed.
This rough analysis is quite amazing. I think Europe as a brand could incorporate these identity aspects in its communication much better. All aspects are a bit bi-polair switching between angular and cadent house characteristics. This makes the EU chart more dynamic. It seems that the EU takes initiative and leads but is able to follow too at the same time.
There is some form of uneasiness going on between the EU and Turkey for many decades. What is this strange and uncomfortable feeling, could this be addressed astrologically? Perhaps yes.
In this post I comment on recent developments related to the sudden and unexpected reappearance of Turkey in the chaotic European political actuality of october 2015.
I will try to show that this reappearance of Turkey is symptomatic for the present state the European Union is in. With the European Union I mean for the EU as an organisation and representing body of the European identity.

The Turkey - EU synastry
If we look at the comparison chart of the Turkey national chart and the chart of the European Union we may notice something that may explain this uneasy feeling. The question we try to answer here is how does the Turkisch national chart effects the EU chart?
The Turkey national chart came into being on 29 October 1923, 8:30pm in Ankara (Book of World horoscopes), the chart looks like this:

The arrow points at Pluto in the Turkisch national chart (outer ring of planets) which is in full opposition to the Sun in the EU chart (inner ring of planets).
In synastric text books on 'relations' difficult Pluto-Sun aspects, like squares and oppositions are negatively labelled. This could mean that the Pluto partner may have a slow but steady deteriorating influence on the identity shaping, leading and integrating force of the Sun partner in the relation, an influence that may become utterly destructive for the Sun partner. Perhaps we could apply this analogy to the Turkisch-EU relationship.
If we do it could explain the uneasiness between both entities during the last 30 years. With the EU (Sun) constantly evading and receding, and Turkey (Pluto) constantly trying to force its way in. Trying to get hold on the other but not understanding why the other is behaving this way.
Relational astrology also indicates that this type of uneasiness between partners may probably not go away and prevents the relation from establishing itself, no matter what both partners do to console each other. Perhaps we could also apply this analogy to the Turkisch-EU relationship.
I haven't researched the relation between the EU chart and other EU country's national charts, but perhaps some of them may also contain synastric aspects like this one.
An European internal crisis
Another way of looking at this situation is from a more psychological perspective, which implicates that whatever happens internally in ourselves we also attract on the outside. As if we orchestrate real life scene's in which we experience these emotions alive. As if we unconsciously organize scene's with actors that are symbolic representations of our emotional constitution.
What are the signs of this internal emotional constitution in the present EU chart that may point to this psychological effect in relation to Turkey?
If we take a good look at the 2015 transits in the European Union chart we see a Pluto transit on its Sun. This means the EU's identity shaping, leading and integrating force is under pressure, it is being eroded, it is in crisis and being transformed. Nothing could be more true about the current condition the EU is in.

The transit of Pluto conjunct Sun in the EU chart started in 2011 and ends in 2017. Perhaps we could assign the whole Syrian crisis to this event. An event in which Turkey features as one of the main actors through which the EU experiences its own identity crisis.
Psychologically speaking, one could say that Turkey is unconsciously selected because of its synastric influence on the Sun in the EU chart through its Pluto. The EU unconsciously selects Turkey to feature in a role and scene which is exemplary for its inner constitution. This fundamental friction between both natal charts is triggered by the current transit, which leads to this actual scene and role play.
There will probably be many more actors on the scene who are in some way exemplary for this internal event in the EU chart. Actors who feature in this role because of their particular synastry with the EU chart, but we don't know their charts so we don't know them.
Stepping up demands in the current negotiations forcefully on the one side (Turkey), and on the other not taking responsiblitity for the situation and taking the easy way out (EU) are symbolic roles for this scene in which Turkey and the EU are casted. As its identity is tested through the impact of other charts the EU may live through it or not, learning and maturing.
New neighbours in the Turkisch backyard.
Looking at the 2013 transits in the national chart ofTurkey we see that in late 2012 something unsettling happened for the Turkisch people, a Pluto 7th ingress which means that Plutonic relations emerge. A Pluto 7th house ingress may mean relations who force themselves into your live and don't take no for an answer. Violent and manipulating partners, crisis and transformation through partners.
This may be a diffficult thing for the next decades to come, while Pluto is transiting through its 7th and 8th house. Turkey may be up to its ears into the Syrian war which introduces plutonic relations that may take the Turkisch society off its course in the coming years.

From the perspective of this Pluto 7th ingress it seems only logical that Turkey seeks rapprochement to the EU. It's not only the refugees who are seeking a safe haven.
While the EU chart is driven by its current identity crisis, the Turkisch chart may be driven and motivated by the emergence of its new neighbours in its backyard. A cooperation between the EU and Turkey should focus on solving those real and immediate needs in both charts.
From this point of view the current push for EU membership by Turkey may introduce a negative spiral between the EU and Turkey, causing the EU to recede and Turkey to drift in the direction of their new neighbours. Likewise by giving in to the Turkisch demands only to relieve its refugee problem the EU may drift towards breaking up.
In this way both partners are not solving anything, not for themselves and not for the other. Any new cooperation should be discussed based on the correct assessment of each others current problems and of their permanent relational stress. Otherwise this situation could evolve into a worstcase scenario for both EU and Turkey.
The chart for Syria is set on Jan 1 1944, 12:00am in Damascus, 33N30/036E18 (The Book of World Horoscopes). The chart looks like this:
The start of the civil war is marked by a Saturn decent through the ASC on april 2011, start of the restructuring of the state. In addition the Sun is transitted by Pluto, the attack on the head of state. \T
The loss of control over the country which took off in spring 2013, is marked by a Chiron transit on the natal Moon. This transit will end in spring 2016, by that time the government may have lost control over the country completely, partly to insurgency and the Kurds, partly to foreign powers NATO and Russia.
Events of crisis and transformation, death and rebirth enter the country, events of destruction of properties on the land and the displacement of the population are marked by a Pluto 4th house ingress on april 2014. Pluto shifts focus from attacking the current head of state (Pluto conjunct Sun) towards transforming the interrior of the country (4th house ingress). This transit is related to the bottom-up approach by insurgency transforming village by village.
Parallel to this event an invasion of foreign powers is marked by an exact Uranus 7th house ingress on april 2014, clearly pointing at the current air campaign of the US and its European and ME partners. The famous square aspect between the two planets Uranus and Pluto is still active until 2016, feeding revolutions in the ME from 2011 on.
Both events (Pluto 4th ingress and Uranus 7th ingress) may point to a turning point in the war, this idea may be supported by a progressed Moon 1st house ingress on feb 2015 until spring 2017, it points to a change of Syria's identity, self image of the nation and the people as a whole, of its national legends.
This is the entry point for starting a new cycle of developments (progressed Moon 1st house ingress), a new Syrian identity is shaped as we speak. No matter who will come out as successor power of Syria, the foundation of its winning strategy is made now.
In case they (NATO and Russia) won't have a new identity concept for the future of Syria as an alternative to insurgency before spring 2017 they shouldn't even bother. In the present debate about Syria the idea of creating an identy for a future Syria is absent, this may be more urgent now than recapturing a few cities. Beginning 2017 when the progressed Moon enters the last degrees of the first house, it may become clear who is going to win the war in Syria, which idea for the future has established itself (that will be an interesting lead to follow). In spring 2017 the focus shifts from the 1st to the 2nd house, from creating to materialising a new Syrian identity.
Retrieving the treasure, the goal of the restructuring (of the civil war) is reached, this is marked by a Saturn transit on the IC or 4th house ingress on jan 2019. This could be the end of the war after going through a major ordeal, this point is called atonement. It could also mean the end of Syria as we know it and thus the complete termination of the current chart. Support for this theory must be found in other event charts which are related to this scenario.
The outcome of the transition which started in 2011 will become visible in 2027 (in case the chart survives 2019). This is 8 years after the end of the war in 2019. A new Syria acts independently in the outer world. This change is marked by a Saturn 7th house ingress in spring 2027. Perhaps Syria will be under a UN controlled interim government between 2019-2027 to guide the reconstruction and formation of a new political layer.
In this posting I will paint a scenario how the proces of federalisation in Europe is achieved with the help of the Greek crisis. The question is how to orchestrate the Greek crisis so that a federal Europe is the only way out? Simple: create bailout packages and make it not work.
The previous Greek government has changed Europe
Looking at the chart of the previous government (Alexis Tsipras I) installed on Januari 26 2015, 15:00h in Athens (see Grexit or visionary i), we can see that its strong executive powers (Mars/MC) pulled Greece and Europe through, never mind its impulsive behavior (Mars). However as was clear from this chart the Greek government was unable to stand up for its own interests (Mars conjunct Chiron), hence the unprecedented harshness of the 3rd bailout package that was thrusted down the throats of the Greek.
The flipside is that debt reduction is now on the table, backed by the IMF which has made it its prime condition before participating in any new funding. Currently debt reduction is impossible for European partners, first because there is no political backing in the European countries, and second because the potential loss for each individual Eurozone country is already beyond repayment, will be even greater with the coming 3rd bailout package.
By backing Greece Eurozone countries have indebted themselves beyond repayment escalating into a new phase of integration, do that or perish. The financial escape may be to refinance all that debt in Eurozone countries through Eurobonds (transfer national debt to federal level) and introduce some form of European government as Francois Hollande has announced lately.
Perhaps it is also possible to keep Greece in the Eurozone through a debt write off of 40%. Eurobonds will completely change the economic and political landscape in Europe. It makes countries jumping in one fiscal pool which has to be controlled by a supra national body, a European government.
Chiron for Tsipras I
In this sense the predicted Chironic role (posting i) of this previous Greek government changing the face of Europe at its own cost may have already materialized. Chiron means being a super user of the system and changing the system. 1) It seems that the Greek have overruled with the aid of the IMF the coalition which controls the Eurogroup and blocks debt reduction. 2) By adopting a 3rd bailout package and pushing for debt reduction it may have escalated Europe into further integration towards an European government.
However this is just one aspect of Chiron's role, sacrificing oneself is another, not being able to defend ones self interest also. 3) Perhaps the plan to keep Greece in the Eurozone has always been a hoax and a debt write off will never be offered. Greece may be thrown out of the Eurozone when it is no longer useful once a European government has been established. 4) The Greek's suffering through austerity packages for years may have been based on false pretences of their European partners.
This predicted Chironic experience of loss and despair for the Greeks (Mars/MC conjunct Chiron), being casted out like Chiron, which is solemnly based on the government chart of Jan 26, 2015 may only seem like fiction and beyond the intentions of European partners but could still be a real possible outcome. Interesting is that the Greek will elect a new government on September 20, which creates a different astrological chart that will change the course of events for the better (for the Greek).
Who is the main driver?
Why were the French so determent to keep Greece in the Eurozone (last July), so that they could create another (3rd) bailout package? Could it be that keeping the Greek in the Eurozone was not the goal, but the means to indebt Eurozone countries further beyond repayment so that federalisation is the only way out? What may the French win through this strategy, if they did have such a strategy?
Europe as an institute (EC/EP/all the DG's, etc. ) may have a real interest here in creating a 3rd Greek bailout package and make it not work. That may increase the need for a creditors bailout program lead by a European government with its own budget based on Eurobonds (the holy grail of a federal Europe).
Maybe that's the reason why this 3rd Greek bailout package (and perhaps also the 1st and the 2nd) is so extremely large and so extremely tough. It seems to be designed on the one hand to maximize the chance that Greece will indeed fail to implement it and on the other to maximize the creditor's (the individual Eurozone countries) potential loss when the Greek indeed fail. A both brilliant and brutal scheme if it were deliberately planned.
The Greek government seems to be fully in sync this theory, they play their part in maximizing the chance of failure and through that maximizing the creditor's potential loss.
The chart of Europe
A European government may be around the corner, probably in 2018, when it becomes clear that the 3rd bailout package is not working. When it becomes clear that nothing will ever work creditors will have to start fulfilling their debt to the ECB, IMF, ESM and its predecessor the ESFS. This is the moment when a crisis unfreezes the whole situation and when you may see some readiness for change emerging (to hand in fiscal and political sovereignty).
Each individual Eurozone country may be bailed out and thrown into the new pool of a fiscal and political Eurozone governed by Brussels. All Brussels has to do is to frame this moment of crisis and transformation, organize it, fit it in, time it, trigger it and steer it. It will take a few years to arrange such a complex event so they're on the clock.
Signs of crucial events in 2018 can be seen in the national chart of Greece (posting iii) and in the Greece Eurozone entry chart (posting iv). Equally the chart of Europe shows signs of such an events like the creation of a European governement. According to the book of World Horoscopes Europe as a legal entity came into being on Wednesday Januari 1st, 1958, 12:00am in Brussels. The chart of Europe looks like this:
Transits in 2010.
After 2008, when the financial crisis began to escalate (see transit Pluto 4th ingress) Europe responds in 2010 by taking measures. In the 2010 chart we can see a transit of Saturn going through the ascendant, meaning Europe is going for a deep dive restructuring itself in order to overcome its shortcomings. At the same time the European project, Europe as an organisation and its position in the world is shaken by unpredicatable forces (transit Uranus 7th ingress opp Saturn) disrupting this restructuring (testing it).
Transits in 2018.
In 2018 we see a Saturn transit through the IC (4th house ingress) meaning a 'treasure' is retrieved by going through some kind of ordeal. You could say that the process of restructuring, which started in 2010, reaches its culmination point in this moment. Among other possibilities it could indeed also mean the starting of a federal European government to overcome some sort of major crisis or ordeal within the European Union. Retrieving a treasure must come with a price, and it is unclear what that price for the European Union as an entity will be. It could be the loss of several countries like the UK leaving the European Union, or perhaps a split within the union between Eurozone and not Eurozone countries.

Is this federalisation event supported by events occuring in the astrological chart of France and Germany? Yes, it is.
France
When looking at the national chart of France (the book of World Horoscopes) we can see in 2018 a Saturn MC transit, which means getting the results of a long term process, an effort made over a long period of time reaches a culmination point as planned. Strangely enough this may mean that the French see the creation of a federal Europe (federalisation) as a French project, as a French success and as a French victory. A federal EU government may be seen as the ideal future extention of the French state, using Europe as leverage to acquire a dominant position in the world. That's an interesting concept that is introduced by this chart here. Confirmation of this view may be seen in the latest message of Francois Hollande, that any French initiative for further integration is strengthening the French state (France).
The question is, if this is indeed how the French see federalisation, could this be a realistic scenario? A European union politically dominated by the French, just like it is dominated economically by Germany? How French is Brussels?
Germany
When we look at the national chart of Germany in 2018 (the book of World Horoscopes) we see a Saturn IC transit which actually may mean the opposite. In Germany the federalisation of Europe is met with great anxiety. The start of an European government would perhaps be felt as the culmination of a long and difficult period of restructuring and loss of old structures that used to be very good, of loss of structure that defined Germany and the German post war success (D-mark, economic and financial discipline, etc). It could be felt as going through some inescapable final ordeal (throwing yourself for the wolves) in order to achieve the ultimate goal (the German treasure) to create a united Europe without war. To shake off the old skin and acquire a dominant position in the world using Europe as leverage for Germany's interests.
New elections will be held in Greece on September 20, 2015. Greece is creating a new astrological chart for its government. Which charts are possible? Here we are going to find out.
A new government must be formed within 3 days after the elections, so we know that a new government chart will be created between September 21 and 23. The previous government was installed on Januari 26, 15:00h in Athens. If we assume that a new government will also be installed on 15:00h we have 3 options.
It seems that this gives the Greek an opportunity to position the Moon and the Sun properly. On the 3rd day on the 23rd the Moon arrives in the 1st house, which means that the focus is on self interests. Greece may be capable of promoting that, which is positive. This is a much better day than the 21st and 22nd when the Moon is in the 12th house, which means Greece may still feel like being at the mercy of others. A 23rd chart will also put the Sun straight into Libra, giving it an extravert, harmonious, social and leading appeal. A 21st and 22nd chart would put the Sun into Virgo, creating a more analytical, technocratic and introvert government.
Taking into account that a new government will have to convince and coach the Greeks implementing the 3rd bailout package, the astrological chart on the 23rd (on 15:00h) may be the best choice.
Now that the nuclear deal has been signed the relation between the West and Iran may hopefully relax. I hope that constructive and peaceful developments in the Middle East may become possible for the benefit of the people of Iran and in the Middle East as a whole. The question in this posting is: what does astrology indicate about the partnership that made this deal possible? Here we review the event chart of the nuclear deal which is set on Tuesday July 14, 2015 at 10:30 am (DT CET) in Vienna, which marked the signing of the deal.
Astrology indicates a strengthening of the partnership in the coming years, which means that the deal has a possitive impact on proliferation of nuclear arms in the Middle East, and on the relation between Iran and the West. The deal will probably stand. In 2020 we see a Neptune 7th house ingress which normally could indicate that partners are deluding each other, however because Neptune is still in its own sign (Pisces) it probably enhances a more altruistic color that merges into the partnership, a color which is already there. Good things are possible, it seems that Obama and Kerry may had it right, steering the Middle East in a direction of de escalation.
Now we look at the Eurozone entry chart for Greece set on Monday 01 January 2001, midnight (12:00 am). This chart gives us insight how the whole 'event' of Greece being a member of the Eurozone evolves. Does the chart give references to occurrences that happened since 2010 and what does it say about the coming years?
2010. Interesting is that the chart explodes in 2010 and that transits in the chart show clear signs of stress. In 2010 3 main angels in the chart are touched, Saturn crosses the Ascendant(1st house entry), Pluto crosses the IC (4th house entry) and Uranus crosses the Descendant (7th house entry). All the potential difficulties of being member of the Eurozone that are present in the chart emerge through this combined transit. The Greek Euro event gets a different character now that Saturn demands a complete (economic/financial) restructuring of Greece, now that Pluto completely transforms Greece it's 'interrior' economic and financial heritage, and now that Uranus introduces difficult to control and unpredictable financial stakeholders and contract partners (2011).
2015. A complete breakdown of its control over its public financial system (context) and likewise people lose control over their bank account (Chiron conjunct Moon/6th), while the transformation that is imposed on Greece its 'interrior' deteriorates Greece's income position (Pluto conjunct Mercury/Sun/4th).
2018. Turning point (Saturn transit IC). Greece may go through a final change in order to achieve that what it takes to be part of the Eurozone, or may acquire indepence by leaving the Eurozone. After this the focus changes from transforming to building, from austerity to investing. When we look at the national chart of Greece (see posting iii, 2018) we see signs of equal difficulty for Greece as a country emerging.
2020. The same situation as in the national chart of Greece is occuring here. We may see a relaxation and restauration of the Greek financial system. Neptune conjunct Moon with Neptune in its own sign. After 10 years it seems the Greek can leave their Euro crisis behind.
The campaign of Hillary Clinton started in April 12 2015 exactly on 2:33 pm ET, New York when Hillary's campaign man John Podesta made a first time announcement of the start of HRC's campaign for president of the USA.
Right on the Ascendent we can see Jupiter (Jup/Asc in Leo). A major positive sign for this campaign. I will evaluate the events in her campaign in the coming year using this chart.
In order to develop a longterm view on events in Greece I use 2 charts. The first chart is the national chart of Greece which is set for 25 March 1821, 12:00 LMT, at the monastery of Aghia Lavra near Kalavryta (The book of World Horoscopes), which marks the defacto beginning of independence of Greece. The proces of formalizing the state was not finished by then, but this is the clear mark of the beginning of the Greek state.
The second chart I use is the moment of entry of Greece in the Eurozone, the chart is set for 01-01-2001, midnight EET, at Athens. Both charts give indications on past, current en future events, I will follow these events from 2010 to 2022.
1st chart) the national chart of Greece
The people, the masses, democracy, public opinion, family life, community engagement and agriculture in Greece are all cared for and governed by the Greek bureaucracy (Saturn/10th trine Moon/6th) more or less independent from the influence of the country's main ingroup.
The Greek bureaucracy is an independent immovable entity in the Greek society in itself.
The country's most 'elitist' ingroup contains the head of state/heads of legislative branche/heads of industrial and financial sector/heads of legal system/religeous leadership.
This ingroup is basically Marsian motivated, which means self oriented, independent, challenging, daring, courageous, forceful and positive. In the chart this ingroup is represented by the great stellium on the MC (Jupiter/Mercury/Sun/Pluto) conjunct POF and conjunct Chiron. Conjunct POF means that the wealth of the nation flows towards this elite, while on the other hand there is a real sense of patriotism here and sacrificial tendency to put the country first.
This 'Marshian' ingroup on the other hand conflicts with how the resources and public services in the country are organized, it disrupts it. (stellium square Neptune/Uranus/6th). The 6th house stand for all public services, the working classes, unions, socialistic parties, social organizations, civil workers, government employees, national health, health service. Neptune/Uranus/6th means that the organization of all this happens in mix of idealism versus market individualism, subversion versus innovation, basically translating the Saturnean directive of the bureaucracy (which is risk avoiding, structuring, methodological, efficiency focused, etc) in an unconvential, unlogical and anarchistic way. Throw in the disruptive influence of the ingroup on this process and see how difficult this becomes.
Last, the dominant influence in the chart comes from Mars/9th conjunct Venus. Mars rules over the ingroup and the Greek bureaucracy, gives it its directions. Mars means being able to stand up for yourself, testing ones strength. In mundane astrology it also represents the armed forces. In addition we can say that this energy is in conflict (tensions) with the interests of the common people, the masses, democracy, public opinion, etc. (Mars square Moon/6th).
Scenario
I will analyze and explain the main transits events in both charts (national chart of Greece and the Euro entry chart). In the table below the transits for the first chart (chart of Greece) which occur in the years 2010, 2015, 2018 and 2020 are outlined.
2010 The following astrological events started the challenging of Greek souvereignty by foreign powers: the T-squ aspect of Pluto- Saturn transit on the natal stellium, together with Pluto squ progressed Sun, plus progressed Moon in the 5th house. What we can see is that the authority of the head of state (Sun) of Greece is being eroded, undermined by foreign powers (Pluto). These foreign powers are in principle altruistic, but maybe also unrealistic. This challenge is acted out through an assault (crisis and transformation) on the public services and resources of Greece (Pluto conjunct Uranus/Neptune/6th).
Secondly the transits introduces scarcity, loneliness and disciplining measures in the interrior of Greece, the common people, families, in agriculture (Saturn 4th ingress). Thirdly these foreign powers are being disrupted by events in Greece (transit Uranus on natal Pluto), which effects into becomming a creditor for Greece, creditors which are on one side helpers (Chiron) and which are on the other side under some illusion (Neptune).
2015 The transit of Uranus on natal Saturn in Jan 2015 shows the disruption of the power of bureaucracy in the country, through the election of Syriza. The Pasok political culture originates in the Greek bureaucracy, a bureaucracy that has organized its own political power dominant over other interest groups within the country's main ingroup. You may conclude based on the Saturn trine Moon aspect, that as long as the bureaucracy cared for the people it could could maintain its political power. It could informally govern Greece basically outside its formal governance structure.
Another observation is that the current transit of Chiron on Mars takes Mars its power away, it disarms Mars, basically leaving te country without defence. Through this transit the main ingroup is disarmed too (which Mars rules), its dominant influence in the chart (political influence) is temporarily shutdown. Therefore the Chiron transit is a window of opportunity for reorganizing the resources and public services of the country. It was to be expected (with hindsight) that only now in 2015 (and only within this timeframe 2014-2016) the EU is able to overrule the Greek establishment (ingroup) and intervene in the country's public organization.
2018 Greece may come into a power contest/power relation with powerful foreign stakeholders. Greece runs the risk of being overpowered through contractual agreements it has made (or will be forced to make) and in which it is now forced into (Pluto 7th ingress). The gloves are off, as if the EU or European partners effectively impose their will on the government with no escape for Greece legally.
In addition, the intervention of the 3rd bail out package is brought into practice as of januari 2018 by force (Saturn conj Neptune/Uranus/6th) overruling the government. This means we can expect further delays in implementation of the current 3rd bailout conditions by the current government in the coming years. Perhaps it's the 3rd bailout package that fails, in which case a 4th bailout package is needed which leads to a scenario painted above, the further dismanteling of souvereignty. It could be that Greece comes under the influence of foreign investors that may use the 'new europeanized economic reality' as leverage for whatever they want to do in Greece.
Version 2 is more radical. Most of the time when Pluto enters the 7th house old relations just get wipped off the plate in order to make room for new ones. If in 2018 the relationship with the Euro partners hasn't improved it wil just stop. This Pluto 7th house ingress probably points to a Grexit, Greece leaving the Eurozone. Saturn conjunct Neptune/Uranus/6th might just point to shrinking public services, services that come to a halt. Whether Greece is in or outside the Euro, it might be confronted with the influx of other non-EU foreign powers which are 'less democratic'.
There are more interesting observations when looking at the local space chart of Greece. First of all the ECB is Greece its best friend, Venus/MC and Mars/MC runs straight over Frankfurt, the ECB is Greece's biggest asset, it shares all its values and assertiveness.
Second it is the German and Austrian government that fullfil the role of Saturn in Greece its chart, it performs (acts) as the tough disciplining and limiting force in this event. The Saturn local space line runs over Berlin and Vienna.
Thirdly, Greece is lucky that Poland is not a member of the Eurogroup, this country would certainly have opposed any bailout package. (Pluto local space line runs straight over Warsaw and Slovakia).
Fourth, most interesting is that in the local space chart of Greece there is no link with Brussels, as a concequence the EU as an entity does not emerge directly in the Greek awareness. No wonder that nothing from Brussels gets implemented in Athens, Brussels just isn't there. This may be a strange conclusion which goes agains what the Greeks say, nevertheless astrology indicates that for the Greeks the EU is the Euro (ECB) and Germany, but not Brussels. Berlin could be the right change manager for Greece or the ECB but not the EU/Eurogroup in Brussels.
Meetings should be moved to Berlin, Prague and Vienna (Saturn line), or even better Franfurt and Milan (Mc/Venus, Mc/Mars line). The decisions and agreements between European partners and the Greek government should to be made there. Then we may see a significant change in the speed of implementation/ adoptation of measures (which are the result of 'good Feng Shui').
Perhaps Germany may bypass the EU in this matter and start an independent bilateral dialog with Greece within a new diplomatic initiative for cooperation.
2020 At the end of tunnel there may be hope, whether Greece is in or outside the Euro. Greece may be able to heal its wounds (Chiron return), incredible wisdom is released in this moment enabling Greece to learn from the experience and starting a new cycle of 50 years. Foreign powers are restricted in exercising their will, or maybe their claims are limited which could relate to writing off foreign debt in 2020 (Saturn conjunct Pluto) but also that the powers of change are 'structured', which means effects of change starting to emerge. Thirdly Mars may be invigorated (Neptune conjunct Mars) enabling the political body (the ingroup) to govern souvereign.
New chapter in the Greece Syriza 'event' starting on July 5th 2015.
On July 7th the Eurogroup and the European leaders scramble to meet an even bigger challenge to the Eurozone. A NO (OXI) referendum vote on sunday July 5th 2015 by the Greeks on more austerity brings a possible GREXIT closer.
The EU says that without a viable program for the Greek economy new financial aid will not come, the Greek government has to come up with a viable program. On the other hand the Greeks don't want any new help that leads to an increased debt so they haven't come up with a viable program, basically avoiding a new debt spiral. Until now both parties the EU and Greece have been acting rationally but are keeping each other prisoner.
It seems completely logical that if parties will start talking about a Greek debt relief, the Greek will come with a viable program for restructuring the economy, both go hand in hand.
In the meantime read here about post-war write-off programs of sovereign dept, including Germany's dept write-off deal after WWII in 1953. The IMF (and the American congress) acknowledges that the Greek dept is unsustainable, that it has destroyed the Greek economy and that dept relief is necessary. The IMF predicts that Greek foreign debt has to be reduced to 117% of gdp (is now 185%), which means a minimum debt reduction of 40% in order to keep it sustainable. So what's next for Greece?
Changing the 'stakeholder arena' Based on the astrological analysis of the Syriza government chart you may expect that the Syriza government will be in power for 2 more years. This government may outlive the current Dutch Mark Rutte II cabinet (possibly ends Dec 2015) and it may also outlive Angela Merkel's political career (possibly ends late 2015 - early 2016). This also means outliving the dominant influence of Jeroen Dijsselbloem and Wolfgang Schäuble in the Eurogroup.
According to the progressed chart of the Syriza government Alexis Tsipras will stay in power for 2 more years until May 2017 when the Moon enters the 12th house.
In 2016 a potential crisis within the European commission is possible (transit Saturn/12th in the EC chart).
Looking at the changes in all these astrological charts, you may expect that within 6 months time the political landscape in the EU 'stakeholder arena' will be completely different. The 'EU partner coalition' that blocks a Greek debt write-off deal may break up in 2016.
Therefore the Greek could/should pursue a political solution that materializes in the coming years. The Greek and its advocacy groups 'have to hang in there' staying on the scene anticipating and engineering a stakeholder arena that makes a political solution possible in order to overcome the current blockade for debt relief.
